| 25 October 1942 | Raining like stink when we woke up and it continued on and off
all day We had several air raid alarms and heard enemy aircraft, one quite low in cloud. A gun post at Southend hit a Dornier 217 killing the pilot, causing it to crash halfway across the aerodrome, and through 350's Dispersal hut. 3 of the crew were killed, another seriously wounded. W/O Engineer in the hut was also killed. |
