The principle

11 April 2009

The principle of the Fairlop Heritage Group shall be to promote the understanding of, and concern for, the history, natural heritage and future of Fairlop Plain.

With some blockquotes too of course…

It was agreed we work with LB Redbridge to obtain funding for a heritage centre and heritage trail, to uncover a section of the original runway and to have an appropriate memorial to all those who served during two world wars.
We have the support of Lord Carrington for a memorial at Fairlop

and many suggestions:

That we try to get local schools involved to increase awareness of local heritage;

That we borrow exhibitions and/or exhibits no longer required from Imperial War Museum or Manston Museum or any one of a number of similar heritage museums. Good idea but first we will need somewhere to display them.

That we attempt to get a local company to sponsor an apprenticeship scheme.
