AS USED BY 16 BATTERY SOUTHERN DIVISION R.G.A 1899-1902.

This model at 1:20 scale was made from scratch using plans from the original handbook.
This gun wa fired by my grandfather Henry Powell during the Boer War 1899-1902.
In 2005 I was invited by the Ministry of Public Works to unveil the restored gun.
The scale was chosen with regard to the ratio of barrel diameter (1 inch), angle size (4mm) and rivet diameter (062 inch)
No apology for mixing up metric and imperial measurements, but I was aware of sizes available.
All plastic sheets, angles and glue, paint and sandstone flags were obtained from 4D Models near Aldgate
who also gave meaningful advice freely and are a credit to the model making family.
There are around 600 rivets involved and these are only available in plastic from Grandtline, California USA
The display case I obtained from Sora in Germany, a brilliant design and reasonably priced.
